Customer Reviews

Good Gi. Better PriceI am new to BJJ, but I've previously trained in Aikido and Hapkido, so I am familiar with different Gis. At 5'9" the A2 fits well enough. It is well-made and comfortable. I wasn't sure if I would continue with BJJ so a Gi a this price point seemed like a good option to me (especially with the included white belt). If I were to have purchased a Gi through my dojo I would have paid 3x what I paid for this one. Even after buying my dojo's patches I've still saved well over half of what it would cost me otherwise. I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase and will deffo purchase another Gi from them in the not-too-distant future. 5Second Gi I've Bought from Your BJJ GearAwesome company that makes quality gis. I bought my first black gi from this company almost 3 years ago and wore it every other day. A blue belt and cauliflower ears later, the gi I first purchased ripped down a seam. It is currently being mended by a seamstress, and I plan to put a lot more time into it before I hang it up to rest.Since I was one gi down, I decided to purchase another Your Jiu Jitsu Gear gi. It's awesome quality as always, and I got plenty of compliments when I wore it to the gym just like I received when I wore my first gi those 3 years ago. If you're a newbie or a BJJ vet, I highly recommend these gis. 5Affordable, heavy duty, no nonsense GII have been training in Karate and Judo for some time now, and recently started cross training in BJJ. I love this GI. Cheaper than my Judo Gis, and just as durable. The fit and quality is even higher, with a good amount of heavy stitching in high stress areas. The GI pants are much heavier than standard GI pants, and made of rip stop material. That s the same that I used in the US Army, and basically it keeps small rips small until they can be patched. A really practical touch. Plus the draw string is cord, not a flat piece of cloth draw string. It slides/tightens much better and stays secure. The cord is held by 4 loops on the front of the pant, much better than 2 on most pants. Lastly, it came with a belt. All Gis should, but I guess a lot of BJJ Gis don t. Even if you already have one, it s always nice to have a spare to tuck away in the gym bag for when your partner forgets his.Overall, a great GI for training at a very affordable price. Highly recommended. 5an 8 pants and a M top - the A1 fits great. I have broad shoulders and the jacket fits ...I'm female, 5'4", 150lb, an 8 pants and a M top - the A1 fits great. I have broad shoulders and the jacket fits well through the back/shoulders and has the perfect sleeve length right out of the bag. The pants are a little loose at the waist but fit right in the butt/thigh, so an A0 would have been too small. The mesh carrying bag is a nice bonus. You can tell it is really well made by the weight and thickness of the fabric as well as the sturdy seam work. Pretty much everyone else at my dojo rolls in Deus or similarly branded gis that run anywhere from $100-$200. As someone just starting out in the sport, I couldn't justify spending that much on one gi, especially when I need at least two to get me through the week. Sure, this doesn't have the fancy patches or slogans, but I'm not a fan of those anyway. After rolling in this for a few weeks, I am confident that it is just as good of quality if not better than some of the more expensive gis of my partners. Some people may prefer a more lightweight option, but the thickness of the jacket isn't a big deal to me. You're probably going to get sweaty rolling either way. My instructor likes to say that a big part of JJ is becoming comfortable being uncomfortable, and I'm a fan of that phrase.I've washed it multiple times with no shrinking, pilling, or anything crazy. I have let it air dry as well as tumbled it on very low with no issues. I'm sure if you wanted to tighten the fit a bit that a spin on high heat would shrink it up a bit, but it fit well enough on me that I didn't want to chance it.This is a great, simple gi without all of the frill and fuss of the branded gis but of equal or better craftsmanship. 5Quality made GiQualityFrom what I can tell this is a quality made Gi.On the jacket, all of the major seams have been triple stitched together. The shoulders are double layered. The rubberized lapel is thick and sturdy. I have not seen any defects in the stitching. The cotton pearl weave is mid weight and a very strong weave. The material is stiff until you wash it and roll in it a few times. On the pants, Its been cross stitched to make is like rip stop material with the cells helping to prevent the spread of a tear. The pants are a very lightweight material. The knees are double layered and comfortable when rolling. The draw string is very thick and good quality. No noticeable defects in stitching. triple stitched seams and a diamond gusset in the crotch to allow for excellent mobility.FitI'm 5'8" and 160 lbs, I usually wear 30x30 jeans and medium shirts. The jacket size A2 fit the length of my arms perfect and the bottom of the jacket came to just below my waist. The shoulders fit my wide shoulders and the collar was about right for my neck. First wash was on cold and I put it in the dryer yielding nearly no shrinking. The jacket is shaped like a T, so with your arms down while wearing it the material bunches up. This is because the sleeves are not sewn on but all one piece. Yeah A2 jacket was a good fit.The pants that came with the jacket for A2 were way to long for me. They dragged on the floor and were wide enough that someone 250lb could wear them with room to spare. I returned the Gi and requested an A2 jacket with A1 pants. The A1 pants I got were perfect for me and the bottoms came to my ankle while standing and just above my ankle while crouched. They were also not nearly as baggy, but still enough room for great mobility.Overall excellent quality for the price, I will be ordering another and using these for the foreseeable future. 5I m a minimalist and I like that this brand doesn t try to make their gi ...I purchased the lightweight gi and it really is lightweight!!! Spring is upon us and I live in a subtropical environment so this gi really is light and breathable. I m a minimalist and I like that this brand doesn t try to make their gi look like a NASCAR. It s lighter than Fuji s lightweight gi and for a casual jiu-jitsu practitioner this is a perfect gi.If you are training 5 days a week for the mundials I wouldn t rely on this gi alone, but it s perfect for the casual training and for the price I don t think you will find a better lightweight gi in this price range. Also their customer service is great! If you are a blue belt they will send you a belt for free which is rare because most companies will just send the white. If you train and are on a budget or just starting out and need a back up gi then I highly recommend this 5Great value, no logo gi.A3 fit my 215 lb perfect, the pants were a bit long for my 5'8" but I live near a tailor shop and I had them alter the length, and sew on my bjj academies patches and now they fit perfectly. A Well constructed gi and a great value at this price point, I own a more expensive popular name brand gi as well and they are very similar. I bought one white and one blue and both came with a white belt in A3 but only the white one came with the carrying bag. 5Great training Gi....no frills, solid to train hard inThese are my 3rd and 4th Gis from Your Jiu Jitsu Gear. They are great. Affordable, durable and worth the money. I train in two of them, rotating between classes, about 7-8 sessions per week. Hard rolling during them all, and they have held up great for over a year and some change of pretty solid abuse. I also wash them in bleach and they are just starting to come apart. That's why I grabbed two new ones. I'll be retiring the other two, and I'm sure I'll end up getting a two more in a couple of years .......but for 125 bucks shipped, I feel that's a fair price for two Gis to train like crazy in. YMMV, but I'll keep getting these....save some of that Shoyoroll money and just get 4 of these...unless you're just trying to look fancy. Hope this post was useful, come to Infinite Jiu Jitsu in Rocklin CA, if you want to see one in personI got my first set around Nov 2015, and this set today 9/11 2017 so they lasted almost 2 years...one set of pants did not survive from the first set though 5Seems OK, some loose stitches.2nd purchase of this brand. Originally bought one almost two years ago for my son. It is built like a tank. No sign whatsoever of giving out and only sign of wear is the discoloration white gi's get from use. This one has mostly all the indications it will last just as long except for a few loose stitches here and there which were not evident in the first one I purchased. They are not expensive and its just for practice so I decided to wash and keep it. We will see if it holds up as well. I also bought my son a second gi to rotate with the YJJG. It is a Fuji all around and I have to say that it seems made of nicer material(softer), and fit and finish might be better but it in no way seems any more durable. Probably less so. Would buy again but hope the stitching on my new one was just missed by QC and not common. 3Amazing Value. Well done YJJG!I needed a white gi for a new school I was trying out. I saw the price and the favorable reviews so I decided to take a chance. I am 5'10 and 230lbs with a pot belly. 42" waist and 36" hips at the "jeans" waistband. I have a 30" inseam and wear a 32" sleeve in dress shirts. On the manufacturer's recommendation I ordered an A3. The Gi arrived promptly and well packaged. I was immediately impressed with the feel and the construction of the Gi. The jacket fit ok around my pot belly and the sleeves were about 2" long for my liking (at the wrist bone) I will probably either need to lose weight or purchase an A4 and have it altered next time. The cut is a trim athletic cut and I really like it except for how it bunches on me under the arms. This could be the way I'm built so no points deducted for that. The pants were well made and the contrast stitching looks great. They were also too long and had to be altered and if I had to do it over again I probably would have purchased A2 pants. This is where I deducted 1 point, size availability. I completely understand that this is a small company and weird sizing is the exception and not the rule, but I'd love to see an A2H and other "husky" options.I washed the pants and jacket in hot water and hung dry the jacket and dried the pants in high and still found they only shrunk minimally which is awesome. If I'm honest, even with the cost of quality alterations, this gi is an exceptional value and still comes in less than many brand name gis of comparable and even lesser quality. I will definitely buy another. 4
