    A great little swim-assist device for your toddler! Purchased this for our 2 year old, who weighs 25 lb and wears 24 month-2T clothing. The upper tank top is loose but stays on and is fairly easy to put on. The inflatable donut section seems to have two separate tubes inside, so you inflate each separately (maybe as a fail-safe in case one tube leaks or is punctured). The donut ends up floating up under the child's armpits. Initially, I think we had the crotch strap adjusted too snugly, which will cause the donut to "flip" down or be "front-heavy." Once we loosened it, it allowed the ring to float more freely, and our toddler got the hang of things really quickly and started paddling around independently right away. She loved it. My husband was initially dubious that this would work, but it was great to be in the water right next to her and not have to be holding on to her the whole time. Her squeals of delight made this one of the best purchases made in the last few months!! When it was time to pack everything to return home from vacation, it deflated easily into compact bundle. Would definitely recommend!! As an aside, we initially had tried to use an alternate flotation device that wraps around the chest and connects to water-wings around the arms, but she was just below the weight limit for that (30 lb min), and the chest belt was too loose even on the tightest setting. So glad we found this!! 5AMAZING: and a solution for those that say it tips child forward...amazing, works perfectly for my 30 pound 3 year old and my 20 pound 16 month old. For those that say it dunks their child forward here's the simple solution: leave the crotch belt loose looking so the inner tube floats up and sits under your babies arms, then your child won't tip forward and dunk their face in. After trial and error I finally figured this out and it's cured that problem completely.If you cince the crotch strap tightly so it's pulling the shoulders and nice and snug (as you'd think it should be) it makes them sit too high out of the tube, and makes their center of balance off so they're tipping forward into the water. The strap does not need to be tight for safety reasons: the child's weight will cause them to sit in the strap regardless of how loose it is, and the tube will rise up to sit under their arms. They'll sit deeper in the seat and be unable to dunk forward. 5DangerousWe bought this for our 18 month old who is very daring at the pool. We liked that he would have mobility rather than being in an inflatable floating raft. This might be good for a baby or very calm child, but within minutes our son had flipped over and was stuck because of the pressure of the inner tube and his inability to maneuver himself to an upright position. It was scary!! We will not be using it again. 1Swimming like a fish!This SwimSchool Deluxe Tot Trainer is AWESOME!!! My baby is 18 months old and weighs 21lb. and this fits her perfectly. She figured out how to balance the tube almost immediately and was swimming all around the pool her first time in it. She loves being in the pool now and it is definitely teaching her swimming skills and giving her confidence in the water. It also allows me to relax in the pool more because I don't have to hold her the whole time we're in the water. I can swim right along beside her and we have so much fun. She loves being able to swim with her older cousins too! 5Finally, a swim vest that does exactly what it should!!!!My 3 year old son who is approximately 34lbs loves to swim in our pool, but some days I just don't feel like going swimming!! I had searched for the perfect vest for him to wear that was both safe and comfortable. I purchased 3 vests before this and none of them worked!!!!! Each vest he wore before wouldn't hold his upper body up and he was constantly tipping forward and getting mouthfuls of water. If a child's a beginner with swimming , then most likely he/she doesn't have the upper strength or correct posture to hold their body up right when they first learn to swim!!!!!....Why some of these beginner vests do not support all children is beyond me!!Obviously with swimming pools, or any water in general, safety is our BIGGEST concern.I would never - ever, ever leave my son unattended in any water , not even for a second!!! But I wanted a safe swimming vest for him that allowed him the freedom to swim and have fun and also allowed me to not have to go in to the pool and be smack up against him (because I didn't trust the vest.) I like sitting on the pool ladder or at the edge of our deck, and I wanted that option if he wanted to swim. But I couldn't find a vest that was safe enough that allowed that to happen!Until now!!!... This is by far the BEST swimming vest I've came across. It works perfectly , is very safe and fits very comfortably. There's an adjustable strap that is made of a very flexible material that goes between the legs. I think the point of the strap is to keep the weight evenly distributed and stops the float from possibly flipping over if the child puts to much of his or her weight forward. Exactly what I needed for my son since he does this often , as being a beginning swimmer because he sometimes doesn't flap his arms and will just lay flat kicking his feet, or he likes to look at the bottom of the pool.Please take my advice - if your looking for a safe, comfortable ,vest look no further. Honestly, this vest is exactly what I was looking for. It's such a relief knowing my son is safe when he wants to swim and if I don't want to go in the water , I'm able to sit off to the side on the ladder or edge of the pool (watching his every move of course!!!!) and not having to be in the pool or having him clung to me because both of us are to terrified to let him go! So happy I found this Aqua Tot Trainer and I think you will be too! 5perfect for small but active kiddo!Best float for us this summer! Our almost 2 year old son is a little guy, only about ~22-24lbs, but very active and adventurous and loves the pool. The puddle jumper we got for him was just too big this year. We tried a life jacket (2 different kinds) and really all it did was bunch up in his face and make it impossible for him to move (would be great to wear for safety on a boat, but not trying to swim in the pool). And from reviews I've read, it seemed that the arm swimmies may be too big for him as well. So we got this one and I'm so glad we did! Like other posters said, it does tilt them slightly forward, but once they get used to it, it's fine. Obviously you need to be near them all the time. But now our son floats and "swims" on his own just fine, and even jumps off the diving board. The only issue is you have to blow up the float part, and I've found we have to add more air every few hours to keep it fully inflated, but that hasn't been a big issue. 5So happy with this floatI am so happy I found this float! It's so perfect for my 18mo. Around 14 months she became too active for the typical baby infant floats and needed something that allowed her to swim around but still be propped up. The arm floaties are still way too big at this point as she's only 26lbs. This is the perfect in between float. I still keep a hand on her while using it but she gets better and better with it solo 5Ideal for pool safety and training1st - we received the yellow even though we ordered PINK but it's fine, the product is what matters more than the color.Our 18 month old is FIERCELY independent and wants to do everything just like her big brother and we wanted to find something that would give her freedom while keeping her safe in the event she fell in. It is IDEAL. She actually did take a tumble yesterday into the water before I could get to her and she kicked her feet and bobbed right back up. She gets so excited when she sees the ring because that means POOL TIME!!*It will not keep a child upright so you still need eyes on them and someone else close by. We worked with her to learn to kick her feet so when she starts to lean forward or back she can right herself.* 5Besides a few flaws this is a good swim trainerThis Swim School Aqua Tot Trainer serves it purpose for the time being. I am confused on why the ages say 2-4. I understand that all children are different sizes but I do consider my child to be an average 2 year old and she is at the maximum capacity of this trainer. The bottom strap is extended as far as it can go and it fits very snug. The top part of the tube fits great but I know that she will not be able to wear this next year for the simple fact of the adjustment strap being extended as far as it can go. When blowing the tube up you have to make sure that the tube is filled up so you cannot easily squeeze it. I find myself having to blow it up every couple hours if we have a long day at the pool. You can tell the tube is losing air because your child will start leaning slightly forward. I am not sure if it s due to the heat or if it just not hold air well. I would suggest putting a pair of swimmies on you toddler just for safety.Overall If they fixed the bottom strap that goes between their legs and the air issue this would really be a great swim trainer. My daughter really loves wearing this and finding something she likes in the pool is hard. I have tried the vest that have the built in swimmies and life vests. This trainer is great for the fact that she will not slip from the tube. I am hoping that they can improve the designs so I can buy another one for my daughter to wear. 3AMAZING!I have twin 2yo's with no swimming lessons/experience. By the end of our vacation, they were kicking themselves around the pool. It IS possIble for them to lean forward and not be able to correct themselves, so you still need to be nearby, but it has given all three of us some amazing freedom in and around the public baby pools or shallow ends. They can use their bodies freely (unlike those heavy arm and chest floaties), can sit down for a snack with it on, and tie crotch clip keeps it securely in place. And my boys have a lot more confidence and now play "swimming" in the bathtub. The best pool "toy" I've EVER bought. 5
