Customer Reviews

Fraud!Total bait and switch. There is absolutely NO way that the cassette in the picture advertising this product is what I received. Competitive Cyclist should be sued and publicly shamed. I bought about $380 dollars worth of parts for my bike that ALL revolve around this bunk cassette and ALL will have to be returned... Also, I get to stare at my disassembled bike for who knows how many more weeks (at the end of freaking summer) until i get this all straitened out... Thanks for the massive headache, CC! 1Great workhorse cassette! If you're on the fence between this and the 1170 or 1175, Read This! This is a "budget" 1X cassette in SRAM's lineup. I replaced my (1199) XX1 that I got used from a friend for very cheap, and I have no complaints so far. It is slightly more "clanky" than the XX1, and heavier, but it works, and that's the point!A bit of advice that was passed on to me by someone more motivated to find the rotational weight difference of having this cassette vs the "bit" lighter XX1. He said that the weight difference between the 1150 and the 1199 would feel like increasing the tire weight by 4g in terms of rotational weight and the effects in terms of wattage which seriously isn't much at all. To summarize, buy this, and save your money for weight savings elsewhere. Also I'd like to note that I chose this over the 1170 and 1175 because there has been a lot of people having problems with those cassettes. Now these problems could have been fixed by SRAM here in 2018, but if you're considering them because of weight...refer to paragraph 1. Might as well save some money because you'll see very little performance gain. 4Great for the moneyA tiny bit of extra weight vs. a HUGE money savings. This is a no brainer. Why pay $120+ when I can get this cassette for $65?Works just fine! 5Looks real good but not genuineThis is not a Genuine SRAM cassette since there's no serial number on the unit as SRAM states on their web site. So I will return it since I don't believe in purchasing counterfeited item. Looks real good but not genuine. 2DurableDurable as heck. Over 5k MTB miles through 2 mic chains and just starting to wear. 5Not so smoothNot sure what s up with this cassette but I can not get my chain to sound as smooth as it did with the original cassette. Yes I m running a SRAM 11 speed chain (new) yes I m using rock and roll holy cow chain lube, yes I had it installed by a Specialized dealer (bike brand I ride) and with the bike in the stand it shifts perfect, sounds smooth but when I climb the chain just sounds like it s grinding. Maybe this cassette needs to be broken in a bit?? I have about 20-30 miles on it so far and it sounds like shit. 3An upgrade in durability with a downgrade in priceThis fits a SRAM XD drive body. I used this to replace a broken OE XG-1175 because my awful shifting technique took its toll. I downgraded because I wanted something stronger and did not mind the slight weight penalty. Now, six months later with approximately 800 miles of hard Appalachian and Rocky Mountain trail riding (and my poor shifting skills), the cassette is still holding. In terms of durability, I consider this to be an upgrade. It does show some wear and will not tolerate a new chain at this point. Be aware that these new 1 x 11 speed systems have relatively low tolerances such that mating with an older or newer chain might not work. Maybe you can? I don't know. In my case, I found that I had to also purchase a 1x11-specific chain to go with this cassette. A regular 11-speed chain showed ghost shifting in the mid-range gears. Budget conscious folks coming from 9-speed mountain systems where every last cent was milked out of your chains, rings, and cogs are going to be in for a surprise. In my case, longevity of the cassette comes down to refining my shifting technique and more frequent cleaning. I also find that I have to be a bit more strategic in deciding when to replace the drive train components. 4no "1" print logo for the one I ordered..any difference?first of all I want to say that I was very excited to receive this item yesterday, but a little bit disappointed thay it did not come with the original packaging. I don't if it's just my OCD, but I think there is one print missing on the back side of the cassette(see pic)left one is the one I ordered, the "1" logo should be there but it's not.. I dont see this as a big problem but just for curiousity and to know what's the difference? anyways, great product and fast shipping! 4I definitely notice the smooth shifting and quiet drivetrain though Adding 120+ grams to the tires or rims is very noticeable (ie the 50-60g difference between rocket ron liteskin vs snakeskin is easily perceptible when accelerating on pavement) but the cassette weight ...Save your money and get this cassette, I went from XX1 cassette to this one on my Epic and while it kind of pains me to 'downgrade' and put heavier components on my bike -- the weight difference while riding is not noticeable at all.. I definitely notice the smooth shifting and quiet drivetrain thoughAdding 120+ grams to the tires or rims is very noticeable (ie the 50-60g difference between rocket ron liteskin vs snakeskin is easily perceptible when accelerating on pavement) but the cassette weight doesn't matter as much, save your money and get this cassette which is both cheaper and more durable than the more expensive X1/XX1 versions. 5Replaced SRAM XG-1180Works perfectly. According to the specs, the XG-1150 weighs a few grams more than the 1180, but at the center of the hub it makes little difference. Of course, all weight adds up eventually, but I'm not spending twice the money for the few grams. Now we'll see how it holds up over time - the 1180 was a workhorse... 5
