Customer Reviews

Perfect poncho! This poncho was a gift for my husband's birthday. We live in the Texas Hill Country, and he needed something to keep warm on the porch in the evenings when the weather cools down. This poncho is perfect, and he loves it! As you can see, he is a tall guy. 6'2"; if one was short, this would be an ankle length poncho! I washed it before giving it to him - the material is good quality and it softened up after washing. A great value for the price, I highly recommend this poncho!5The real thing! This is the real thing. It's thick and well made. I'll be getting a 2nd one for my girlfriend.5Great poncho. It's a very well constructed poncho with plenty of material coming off of your shoulders to keep your upper arms warm. It fits well on me; I'm 72 inches tall. I took 1 star off for the little metallic threads being in the poncho. The only thing I can think of is that the use the loom for sparkle products aswell. Also I took 1 star off for the creases in the poncho. There are still creases after many washes and alot of use.3Mostly goodWhat I like, covers well and keeps me warm, comfortable. What I don't like, bottom edges are curling a bit, collar is sown on one side only - if worn on the up/out side the material can be a bit rough on your neck however, I turned the poncho over so the collar is on the bottom/in side and no problems with my neck. I would/will buy this again.4It seems authentic and works for me.This was very nice. It is as most described it. It thick enough for me I believe anything much more thicker than this would be difficult to actually wear. It did not have any bad smell at all but was very creased. Considering it was folded for who knows how long I would say the creases would be expected. And yes after wearing it and two washes there is a slight center crease still there. The item is like a rug cut in the middle so those who stated that were right but they neck area is stitched very well so no complaints on the design, color, or stitching. As far as all the comments on the size, it really is fine, these comments are relative to your body height, arm length, weight, I think they did a great job based on the average person. For me it was fine 5'5" and very large xxx size shirts but this fit me fine. If you are looking for something authentic and inexpensive this is it. It fit my budget and does what I need it to. It's great for a costume. I actually just use mine. I would recommend this.5Cozy and CoolI brought one of these as a gift and liked it so much I had to buy another one for myself!Very sturdy, very cozy, and feels handmade. It's nice to own something that doesn't feel like it was cranked out of a factory by the millions. It's great for wearing around the house in the winter time. I'm sure it'll be nice on night time walks in the spring and summer as well. I'm seriously thinking about getting another one in another color. I figure by rotating two they'll last the rest of my life. (I hope.) :DUpdate: I ordered one with bright red stripes and whatever yarn they used to weave the red stripes had a strong musty smell. It was definitely the red yarn since there was no smell coming from the areas woven in other colors. I washed it several times, then based on internet tips I tried soaking it in baking soda, washing it again, soaking it in vinegar (which is supposed to set dye), then more washing, more baking soda, etc. Finally either because of all the washing or just over time the smell dissipated. My guess is that some red dyes have a nasty smell when new, just like some black jeans. Oh well, it looks great now and doesn't stink, but I knocked off a star for the trouble.4The most unique clothing item you'll probably own.Quite a nice piece of fabric, and very memorable and fun to wear. I'm ~6'2" and in the worn state it reaches a few inches below my knees. In the unfurled state it can cover from over the top of my head to the top of my feet functioning as a nice blanket, as long as one doesn't mind the hole in the middle. It will definitely need to be washed as it comes with a very strong non-organic smell, and possibly needs to air dry for maximum scent removal. The product is advertised from Mexico, I cannot confirm aside from the tag, but my relatives have an authentic Mexican blanket they bought from traveling to the country and both share the type of build quality and feel. As their blanket has lasted 30 years including being used as a cover on a sofa, I can hope poncho can last as long. My only concerns with durability lie in the cutout for the head. It doesn't seem weak, but I take care as to not cause any undue stress to this part.As the pictures posted are of mostly poor quality, here is my example of the Sage green with a common green cap bottle for comparison. The poncho resembles a very dark moss green. Very satisfied with this color.5Unique, warm, and durable.Great poncho! I bought this due to my adoration of cowboy Clint Eastwood, and the maroon color since I'm a hokie. The material is the same as a typical Mexican blanket. Some may find it a little itchy, but I have no problem with the material (fabric softener with cold water will do the trick). The poncho is actually just a Mexican blanket, but with a hole where the head is, and sewn around the hole to prevent fraying of the fabric. It's a bigger than I expected: I am 5'9 and the bottom reached my knees and the arms reached just below my elbows (but I have long arms). I have no problem with the size, I'm actually happier because of it because you can use it as a blanket if you want, and you definitely get what you pay for. It's strange because although there are big holes on the side, the poncho retains heat very well, I didn't get cold with the poncho and a short sleeve shirt on in 40 degree (Fahrenheit) weather. I walked around public with it on and got some strange looks, and some compliments. I actually got my friends to purchase the same poncho with different colors, and have no complaints. I definitely recommend this to anyone who seeks something unique, durable, and warm! I'll be happy to answer any questions about this product.5I love my poncho however it's very large on me and ...I love my poncho however it's very large on me and very thin material. I'm 5'11" and built lean, this poncho falls below my knees and covers my arms below my elbows. This is great to keep warm while camping however for anyone that is shorter than myself I feel it would be even larger on them. Additionally the material is very thin and not as thick as I was expecting, a little too pricey for everything I felt was wrong with it. I would suggest going to a local store and trying to find one more authentic for the same price.3... I am in a wheelchair and find the poncho easy to wear and warmI should have had one of these years agoI am in a wheelchair and find the poncho easy to wear and warm.I plan to get more. They are perfect for public wear in a wheelchair and hide accoutrements such as colostomy bags and the such.5
