Customer Reviews

it's comfortable, it's plenty roomy - it fit my 240 ...I'm not sure how to rate this, honestly. It's a sleeping bag, it's comfortable, it's plenty roomy - it fit my 240 lb husband, myself and our youngest son (6 year old) even snuck in. It's soft. The included "sheet" was so paper thin it was practically useless, though. It's not, however, warm and cozy. It got down to around 37 at night when we camped at Mammoth Cave in Kentucky a few weeks ago and the first night we froze all night and woke up stiff and frozen. The second night we added a large throw blanket to the inside of the sleeping bag and that fixed our dilemma. It's probably my fault for assuming it would do fine in our weather and for the price I'd do it again. It's a great sleeping bag for 45 degrees and up. I'll just bring our blanket on our next trip just in case. 3Works great for a trailerCan't testify to longevity, but we've used this on our last couple of camping trips and it's been just fine. Since we have a tent trailer we never know if we're going to be baked out or too cold. Thought this might be too warm, but it ended up being just perfect for the Pacific Northwest. The zippers work great and do not get stuck and being machine washable is a must since our dog jumps up on the bed leaving sand and fur everywhere. It also fit the bed perfectly so we had plenty of room. 5good bag, not quite as warm as I hopedNot quite warm enough for my wife and I at 49* but with a fleece blanket inside it was fine. Roomy enough for my 6'3" fat self and my (Edit: not fat :) )wife. Only 3 nights in it so far but seems to be well constructed. Would be 5 stars but the zipper, while far better, is not as easy to use as I expected, you still have to be careful of snagging the fabric. 4A very roomy more modern alternative to the old flannel sleeping bagWe've had the bulky old flannel sleeping bags from Coleman and yeah you can zip those together, but they are heavy and bulky and, when wet, very hard to dry. We were looking for a quality double that was lighter and smaller when folded and easier to wash, with more modern materials, and this seems to fit the bill. It is still pretty bulky when rolled or folded. But it is about the size of our Queen size bed, plenty large enough. Flannel is much nicer on your skin than some of the satiny slippery nylons used in a lot of cheap bags. This Coleman has interior fabric that's nice and soft, plus the separate sheet that should be great if you want to just give that a wash more often. I mean face it, how often do you actually wash your whole sleeping bag, even if it's machine washable? Don't answer that. We're using it in the lower bed of a VW Eurovan camper and it fills the width and actually hangs over the foot end of the bed. I'm sure our 5 and 7 year old can crawl in with us no problem. Did I mention it's LARGE?Cons: the strings for tying up the rolled bag are too short by about 6 inches. The bag at least when new is a bit bulky and slippery and you have to get a good determined purchase on the thing to roll it up tight enough to hope to get the string around it and into the bag. My advice is to get an adjustable oversize nylon strap you can place around it and then pull tight. It does come with a nice carry bag but you have to roll it up pretty compact to get it into the bag.The zip-plow thing that's supposed to prevent zipper snags works most, but not all, the time. Better than a regular normal zipper, yes, but there are still loose flaps along the zippers that can get caught. I think they must leave those flaps on so that the air doesn't whistle in and out of the zipper even when closed, which is good, but it's still a bit of an issue. 4Yay, both bags are the same length ...Same length means more versatility if you want to pull over head or fold over. Most doubles have one shorter. Very lightweight yet unexpectedly warm, but probably not for colder temps. Seems more like two comforters, with connecting zippers ... which is exactly what I wanted. Is grey with a hint of lightest blue on the inside, but steel grey on the outside. (I use it inside out, making it easy to slide on the sleeping surface.) The enclosed sheet is to me useless, but is a beautiful blue-green and will be useful for something. Always appreciate Coleman's zippers with the 'plow' feature. It is an actual 81" long. 5not as warm as advertised- cold in JuneAlthough I like the size and fabric of this sleeping bag, I am not happy with its warmth. We went camping in mid-June in Wisconsin. Temperatures during the day were around 68-80, during the night around 50-60. I was so cold! Truth be told, we were using an air mattress, which, I have been told, conducts the cold from the ground. However, I had expected this pretty fluffy and well-isolated sleeping bag to keep me warm enough. I ended up using an extra fleece blanket inside the sleeping bag (but I was still cold!), and during nights it was raining, I wore a hoody over my usual PJ's in bed. I will have to look into buying another sleeping bag now, this I cannot use for camping during nights that are cooler than the warm months of July and August. 2Bought in a rush & Regret itIt's not worth the expense. Budget bag at a high price. Cheap material that catches on any rough spots on hands or feet and causes lots of static. Kept us warm while sleeping in a tent (Sierra mountains in June). First time i tried to separate them into two singles, the zipper broke (the male end on one side was very misaligned and so stuck that the zipper came out of the female end from the side). I ended up having to perform minor surgery to take it apart and it's permanently broken. I was able to use the one bag with a working zipper just fine and it was comfy camping by a cold and windy lake in CA end of September. We used it again tandem to sleep in a cabin and we were too warm even with the one side open due to broken zipper. Carrying case is cool. Easy to fold and repack once you figure it out (fold it in thirds lengthwise). I'll probably replace this with something better made and pass this on very soon. 3It is machine washableI have had several questions about being able to wash the sleeping bag so I took a photo for others. Hope it helps. 5Excellent double sleeping bag for 2 above average sized peopleExcellent double sleeping bag for my wife and me. We use it for our pop up trailer for our bed, and it works great. This is the best sleeping bag for 2 people who want a lot of space in one sleeping bag. You have about as much room inside this bag as you would have for two people on top of a queen bed mattress. This has plenty of space for two people of above average size, and keeps you warm in normal sleeping temps. 5Huge for two adults, great quality and priceBought this for use with my girlfriend, she really liked the removable sheet inside. I appreciated the zipper quality and the length at 6' tall 220#, but there is heaps of room in there for 2 people. You could add a 3rd person if you liked it weird. 5
