This exquisite reproduction once belonged to the feared Danish king, Godfred (also known as Gudfred or Gudrd), who resided in Haithabu, Jutland's most significant Viking settlement, until his death in 810. Crafted entirely by hand, the sword features a parrying bar and pommel with three bulges, both made from heat-treated, malleable cast iron. The blade, composed of 100-layered damascus steel, extends to the pommel and is hand-peened there. The handle is wrapped in wide leather strips. The blade's prominent hollow groove provides the sword with remarkable flexibility and lightness. The blade edges are unsharpened. The sword comes with a beautiful wooden-leather scabbard and a leather sword belt.
