Size variance is minimalI bought 2 sets of these; 1 large and 1 x-large, because my measurements fell in a zone where they both could work. I can't tell the difference in the way they fit. Luckily, they are both tight enough to be useful without restricting blood flow or being uncomfortable. I wear one of them on my left leg for about 13 hours at a time and then take it off until the next morning and really have no discomfort at all. So far, there has not been any issues with construction or premature wearing. Even the reflective parts have survived the washing machine a few times, although I usually hand wash this kind of stuff. They have, for the most part, been great and do what they advertise... I just can't advise on the fitment of these two sizes. 4I really like the calf guards but....I really like the calf guards but....The side stiching is starting to open, now I have big threads hanging!I'm asking for a replacement, for the price one is paying these kind of quality defects are not acceptable. 1Sizing Chart Seems OffSo, I went based on the sizing chart and measured my calves and came up just a bit over 14.75 inches, so went with small. Out of the box it was a bit of a struggle of sliding them over my feet, but I am guessing it's because the elastic has yet to be stretched. Once on, the mid section elastic over the calf is good, but the elastic band at the top pinches my leg under the knee and leaves me with a slight skin/fat bulge. My concern is the band impacting circulation from being too tight. I needed them sooner than later so paid extra for expedited shipping and since that doesn't get refunded on returns, I am going to keep them and hope I can stretch the bands enough to be comfortable without messing the sleeves up. 2Working for meI purchased these after looking at a few others online, and reading reviews. When I first got them, I thought "how is this going to help? The material is so thin" but, they are actually helping me. My calves are super tight, and I get shin splints when I run, or just walk for a long period of time. Even though I stretch them out, sometimes at night, I would get these horrible muscle cramps on my calves that would wake me up and had me being in pain for a good hour or so.... I bought these, and honestly, they are making my calves feel better. Even while running, I don't have to stop as often to massage my calves a bit before running again. I don't think these are a cure all, but in my experience with them (I've had them for a few months now, and have been using them 3 times a week) they are helping along with stretching and massage. I was them once a week (since my calves don't really sweat) with regular laundry soap in the sink. they are thin so I didn't want to take a chance in ruining them in the washer. I hope this helps you in your decision. 4I strongly recommend and endorse these N2's compression sleeves.I have cramping issues - serious cramping issues. I require strong compression with a snug fit but not so tight as to feel uncomfortable especially because I need to wear my sleeves all nigh while I sleep and frequently during most days. So I also need a good quality sleeze that will take the wear and tear while retaining it's compression qualities. That's hard to find in a compression sleeve. Believe me, I know. I've bought no end of compression sleeves trying to find the right one that fits right and feels comfortable enough to wear for many hours. Thankfully I can now stop looking since I discovered these N2's. These are perfect for me. Yes, they are pricey but no other sleeve offers this level of "therapeutic quality" at a lesser price. Nothing even comes close.N2's are a prime example of "getting what you pay for." They are expensive but also well worth the price. They are so superior to the multiple other compression sleeves I have bought and worn that I now will only buy and wear N2's. I can honestly say they help me. And I mean a lot. I wear them constantly. I have come to rely on them. They have practically eliminate my cramping problems. I give these N2's my highest possible recommendation and endorsement for that reason.I haven't received anything from anyone for this honest evaluation. 5Love these sleeves!Great fit and great compression. I have large calves (19.5 in) and circulation problems. After a few weeks on my feet at a new job, I thought my legs would never recover. Within minutes of putting these sleeves on, I could feel the difference. After about a week of wearing these sleeves, almost all the aches and pains in my legs were gone. I rarely go to work without these sleeves now and am building strength and endurance by leaps and bounds again. I would recommend these compression sleeves to anyone who has issues with circulation in the legs or general aches and pains from standing/walking. My doctors have recommended compression stockings for me in the past but my feet/toes were greatly irritated by them, these are the perfect compromise of compression without the irritation. And they came in pink too! 5Little compression + Itchy tags = Not my favorite compression items.Pros: They have reflective stripes for night runsCons: About everything else.I'm not a fan of these.I bought them knowing that my calves are a little too big for their largest size thinking that would give me extra firm compression as a result. What I found is that these have a stretch limiting band around the top that limits the size of calf that you can fit into them but the fabric that the rest of the guards is made of is plenty stretchy to accommodate my calves. So much so, in fact, that they supply almost no compression whatsoever. The band around the top just makes them absurdly difficult to put on and contributes no other redeeming quality from what I can tell. I won't be using these for any long runs due to their lack of compression. I don't need as much compression for shorter ones so I guess I'll use them for those. In with the 5k gear these go!Furthermore, there's tags sewn into the seam on both sleeves. Seriously. Tags. In compression clothing. With pointy corners...I haven't cut them off yet because with the way they're sewn in I suspect that it will just result in other point corners making my legs itch. 2Work Amazingly for my Strained CalvesI've switched to a minimual style running shoe and as a result have had strained calf muslces for the past few months. They progressively got worse to the point it was not only causing pain in my calves but in my knee as well. I decided on ordering a pair of these based on the other reviews that had been posted. I'm very happy with my purchase. I noticed a difference after just the first run with these. After using for the past week the pain in my calves has decreased.A few things I've found as must knows about the product:- Measure your calf muslce in a relaxed state and order based on this- Mine fit comfortable prior to running. As I warm and and my calves expand from running they tighten up nicely. (I measure 17 inches and the Large fit perfect) If you are at the low end of the size chart you might want to order down a size.- Their is a front and back to these and they do fit better with the log wear in the front.- Wash them by hand if you want to keep the reflective logo intact- These are very breathable. One of the main reasons I ordered these over some of the other products is the claim for breathability.- With a prior injury I took the suggestion of several reviews to wear these post running for a while. I found this is one of the most theraputic times to have them on. As I'm back stretching and relaxing after my runs the continued support has really helped my calves to relax. 5compression per dollar?So let me get this out of the way first: I BOUGHT THESE ON AN EXTREME DISCOUNT SALE!!!!! I didn't pay the 34.95 that's listed on the page.I run on a weekly basis and it adds up. Doesn't matter what age you are, lactic acid (that's why your calves are sore) build up will happen. The 2XU compression guard helps with this issues so I'm a fan... Just not a fan of the full retail price.If you're an avid runner like me, you're going to need this as my calves has been less tired / sore after the run (on average, I do about 7 miles a week during the running season).There are complaints from people saying how these 'hurt' or 'suck', but please note, you have to buy for your calf size. If you're buying smaller than your calf size thinking 'more compression is better' then you're going to hurt yourself. 2xu website has a page that teaches you how to measure.If you're interested in compression, then you don't have to buy 2xu; there's plenty of brands out there for you to try. I bought it on a whim as you couldn't beat the sale price at that time. 2xu will do random sales (not really announced) and they have decently good products in my opinion.Aside from 'compression wear' other people use the 'tape method' but that's more long and involved BUT will give you better results. But I'm more for the ease of 'put it on and go' and for that, the 2xu these compression calf guards can't be beat. 4These really help!!!Really helped!!!. I used to get occasional calf strains from running that would keep me sidelined for a week or two. I've been wearing these for the past 18 months and have not had one calf strain. There are so many of these products out there to choose from but I have found these to be easy to use and take care of (wash by hand and they will last much longer) I'm going back for another pair even though the ones I've been using are still going strong. 5
